Candidate: for Newton Abbot South - Colin Parker
Cllr Colin Parker
I live in Twickenham Road, with my wife Jean, where we have run Cut n Curl Hairdressers for nearly 40 years. My daughters and grandson live locally.
I have been a fully committed Town/District Councillor since 2007 and was honoured to have been Mayor of Newton Abbot. My main interests are making Newton Abbot a great place for all of our families and helping the local community.
I am proud to have been ward councillor alongside Gordon Hook, working for our area together for the last 14 years.
Delighted to have been, for last 6 years, Chair of the Finance Committee of the Town Council which has delivered Newton's Place the new museum and community building and many other achievements. Pleased to have been main councillor for organising and securing funding for the new Buckland skate park.
I have been an active member and treasurer of Newton Abbot Town Carnival for 14 years.
I am concerned for the Environment, Climate Change, Affordable Homes, Speed Limits and Road Conditions and the impact of these things locally.
I listen to, care for and treat everyone with respect. I am passionate and devoted to this town especially the area where I live.
As County Councillor I will continue to commit to work tirelessly, doing my utmost on behalf of all residents in every respect.
