Cider Petition Launched

26 Mar 2010

There are four cider and perry producers in Teignbridge and this week the Government's announcement of a 10% increase in cider duty, with more to follow, is likely to have a serious impact on a traditional industry whose heart is in the West Country.

Teign MP Richard Younger-Ross has said he will press the Chancellor to reverse this tax at the earliest possible opportunity and has produced a petition in support of Craft cider makers.

The petition can be found in the Cider Bar in Newton Abbot, only one of four bars left in the country. You can also sign online by following the link below or download a paper copy for your family, friends and colleagues to sign.
