Dawlish Seawall work Continues

The second stage of the Dawlish seawall railway protection is now well underway.
Dawlish Lib Dems have worked hard through the planning process to get many improvements to the original designs, such as better viewing areas, improved design and finishing and better drainage. Working with the rest of the Town Council we managed to ensure the new bridge and lifts are to be included, making the far side of the station reachable for all.
There is much to do to make sure that Network Rail do all the work as they have said, and to keep pressure on them when we get shingle and flooding in the underpass.
It will take some while to get the new wall up, and there will be more sections between Coastguards and Red-Rock, and then of course the battle to save Holcombe Beach.
Sadly we were not able to save much of the Brunel heritage assets around the station and the old
