Extra £6.5m for Devon’s roads welcomed
News today of an extra £6.5million to repair Devon's potholed roads is welcomed by the County's Liberal Democrats.
"We have been calling for more to be invested in our roads for several years, and our campaign is finally paying dividends for Devon residents and road users, said Cllr Alan Connett, Liberal Democrat opposition leader at County Hall.
"Our concern is whether County Hall will be able to properly manage the extra cash, given this week it announced it was delaying 1 in 3 road and pothole patching schemes and holding back £800,000 planned for repairs meant to be done by the end of March," added Cllr Connett.
