First new council home in Newton Abbot Martin Wrigley

Modern homes for local families - the first in 30 years - are being built by Lib Dem Teignbridge District Council.
Work is starting on the first homes directly funded by the council in three decades. Councillor Martin Wrigley, responsible for housing at Teignbridge council, is driving forward plans for new genuinely affordable homes locally.Martin says: "Too often, new houses are beyond the reach of our local sons and daughters, and building council homes will help many local families. With new house prices so high, too many local people are left out. These include the men and women who work in the NHS and caring services, the blue light emergency services, key workers and other jobs which are essential in our communities.
"Our communities deserve quality housing to meet their needs, and I am proud Teignbridge District Council is working hard to deliver it."
