Teign MP Richard Younger-Ross has pledged to do his bit for the British Armed Forces family.

He said, "I am delighted to support The Royal British Legion. They have an important role to play in highlighting the needs of the whole armed forces family. I have pledged to do my bit and would encourage everyone to visit the website www.timetodoyourbit.org.uk to find out how they can get involved in the campaign.

Kevin Shinkwin, the Legion's Head of Public Affairs said, "We're really grateful to Richard Younger-Ross for pledging to do his bit and hope all parties will give it serious consideration."

Mr Younger-Ross has also signed an early day motion calling on the Government to give proper recognition to those who have served in the Armed Forces since the end of the Second World War, by the award of a National Defence Medal.
