MP Pushes For Emergency Workers Bill To Be Used In Criminal Act

1 Apr 2010

With reference to today's story in the local press, Teign MP Richard Younger-Ross has condemned the 'stupid and mindless act' of a 14 year old boy who threw a full can of alcohol at a passing ambulance shattering the windscreen.

Mr Younger-Ross is contacting the police asking whether they have determined which store illegally sold the boy the alcohol, and whether the Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Bill, which the MP masterminded, can be used by the police/CPS in this instance.

Note: The Emergency Workers (Obstruction) Bill makes it an offence to obstruct or hinder persons who provide emergency services.
