Nightmare on Drake Avenue

9 Mar 2010

Drake Avenue in Teignmouth is in such a bad state of repair that it has prompted local District Councillor Terry Falcao to call for Devon County Council to do something about it as a matter of some urgency.

Whilst visiting the area, Mr Falcao noticed a number of potholes had recent appeared. He said "the state of the road presents potential hazards to road users, and may well have arisen as a result of the traffic of heavy vehicles coming out of the development site. I have asked for MP Richard Younger-Ross's support to secure prompt repairs to the road by Devon County Council. I am keen to ensure that the residents are not made to suffer through no fault of their own."

In support, Mr Younger-Ross said he had contacted Devon County Council and urged them to look at the problems as soon as possible "before the road deteriorates even more and road users such as cyclists could end up having a nasty accident" he said.
